Dealer has vehicle I ordered listed on their website

Wow what a thread fail. The OP couldn't even be bothered to take the two minutes necessary to do some simple comparisons to his order and the vehicle listed on the dealers website.

Ok. I overreacted. I accept that. But it is still quite a fail that the dealers are filling their stock before filling retail orders. I am tempted to just go buy this one and cancel my order.

I will also say I asked the dealer about dropping the lux package to make the build happen quicker. But I missed the moonroof. Still wonder how many dealers take orders and convert to stock so they get more quantity they can sell for an up charge.

With the sticker showing, Special Order, it’s someone else’s custom order and not a dealer stock order.

I did request a priority 10 a while back. Never got any confirmation. I hate trusting the dealers when they obviously would rather get stock over a retail order.

That's true about a bunch of dealerships. Without huge markups they aren't making money!

My Ford dealer has 13 Mavericks listed. All in transit and Mine is the 2nd on the list (it's my vin #). They all have a banner on them saying deposit, which means it's been spoken for but not purchased. I have it on a different thread. The picture shows it in front of a Ford railcar. Mine hadn't been built at that point, but the pictures included every option that I had ordered. I was super confused. It also listed a $3000 market adjustment. I questioned my salesman and he said it's all done automatically on their website and that the price I agreed to is what I would pay not what was advertised. So it's up to me when it shows up to purchase or not, otherwise someone else will be paying $3000 more than I am paying.

I believe this is a standard practice at all dealers, regardless of brand. When I was test driving a number of vehicles early this fall I noticed most dealers had new units listed, but was in informed they were all pre-sold. It's just part of how the inventory system software that most of them use works.

If you're certain that's your Maverick, stop by on Monday and complete the transaction.

FWIW, my Maverick was automatically uploaded to my dealer's site the day it was delivered. They promptly swapped out the pictures on the listing with one image that said SOLD. They called me the day after it was delivered to discuss payment/financing and I picked it up just a couple of days after that.

Hey JJC, were you able to do all the financing / payment over the phone and then just pick it up later or was it the usual dealer dance that takes hours to negotiate?
My dealer is a few hours away and will not be up to dealing with all the usual bull crap.

I think I can answer that one . In my situation I changed orders when drop in was late availability. Ordered another with spray in with Lux Package. Dealer never cancelled first vehicle and now I have 1 in production and the other scheduled. I am only going to buy the 1 with Lux Package. This leaves the other Mav to be up for grabs on dealer lot. Since I was an early order dealer can save the 4% off he gave me on the vehicle and mark up or not any way he wants.

My window sticker only has a line of letters and numbers as shown above, but not "SPECIAL ORDER" above it, nor any thing else.
