Picked up an XLT Hybrid today, ordered July 2021. Everything works great, Beshore & Koller in Manchester, Pa. was great, no upcharges, price was what was on the order last July, in and out in 10 minutes and an overall great experience.... except I don't seem to have any power to the front USB connections, either the USB A or C under the head unit that would also power Android Auto. Tried a pile of different cables, even an iphone with carplay. Makes me think it should at least charge.

The back seat USB charges both phones with all combinations of cables. Software running latest version and checked for updates. Head unit works in every other possible way.

I remember seeing on here a couple posts about this, that I can't find at the moment. Someone reset something, someone updated, someone had an issue that the outlets were never connected to the head unit from the factory. I am kinda thinking it might be the last reason?...

Thanks in advance if anyone has had this issue and found a resolution before taking back to the dealer.

First thing: Are the USB ports illuminated when they ought to be? Betting the answer is no.

Second thing: Don't waste time and energy trying various purported kludges. Make an appointment at your dealer to take it in for fixing. It's a flaw which, while not affecting operating the vehicle, nevertheless requires attention from those tasked with delivering the vehicle in prime condition.

Others here have reported it's been discovered an internal connection was either overlooked or perhaps worked loose during shipping and was easily remedied at the dealership.

Thanks. I just figured if there was something simple, it's easier than going the dealer route. I know they'll take care of it. I'm not really an uptight person about stuff like that. Whatever is the simplest path to a conclusion is my path of the day. It's just a USB port.

So stopped at the dealer this morning and they took it right in and cable is missing. So ordered.

I have the same problem I think :( no power to both ports and no signal connection for carplay. Both ports are illuminated however. May be provided lighting power from a different ambient lighting circuit. I just really don't want to be without the truck already after only a few days of finally having it... Did they say if they will get the cable in soon?

Good thing to hear. An unfortunate omission but one with a ready and (one hopes) swift resolution.

This is why the MTC is a great forum. No harping, whining, "Ford sucks" etc..... just the issue, how to get it resolved and be happy.

Thanks so much for posting this. It will help others!

The cable is back ordered until May. But they were in and out pretty quick. Didn't even ask for me to set up an appointment. Just got the part number and ordered it and said they would call when it comes in. My ports weren't illuminated.

Gotcha; I'm glad that they got you squared away! I'm sorry that it'll probably be a bit until you get it though. I hope it's fast. Odd that yours were not illuminated but mine are... I'll have to keep playing with it to see if it's maybe a blown fuse or something.

Actually it is illuminated I didn't think it was but... It just lacks power and data. So that must be a different cable. Maybe yours has the same issue.

If anyone happens to find the part number for that wiring harness please post it! I would love it if I could just order it for $20 and install it myself so that I can save the likely multi-day visit to the dealer...

It's a warranty item so it's free. It was pretty easy for me. I went in. It took about 20 minutes for them to identify it and probably take the same time when it comes in. Either way, it's back. Ordered until May sometime.

Yeah I really like this forum. I really like taking control of the situation and figuring out what's going on, before I act.

I mean if this is my biggest problem with the truck when you look at how everything else is going in the world with shortages and delays it's really no big deal at all. Otherwise it's been 100%.

Beshore and Koller has been a real credit to the dealership system. They've been in business since 1935 and they seem to look at it like they want to be in business for another 90 years. The communication about the delays was excellent, nothing shady about the sale at all, transaction took 15 minutes. When you look at all the dealerships taking advantage. Top notch, hometown, what you would hope to expect from a legacy brand. When it works it works. I was picturing what would happen if I had to go Make an appointment on my phone app with the Tesla service center 40 min away and I couldn't get in for 3 months...
