I am in the process of installing two amps and a couple of 6.5 dvc subwoofers. I am using a LC2i pro line output converter to go from high level speaker wires to rca. I found in another post a guy said the front speakers were FL + grey/brown. FL - Blue
FR + Green/Brown FR - Yellow/Red.

I am using the rears to feed the LC2. Not worried about roll off as the LC2 adjusted for it. I found the speaker wires to the rears to be. LR grey/purple and brown/green and RR to be grey/purple and Green/purple. I tested polarity on left rear and got Grey/purple wire as positive. The thing that is confusing me is both left and right have a grey/purple. Am I missing something? Can anyone clarify or positively identify polarity by colors in the rear? Thanks in advance.

Ok so I figured out the wiring. It was a pain. You can not check polarity with a multi meter. I ended up pulling the speakers and in the case of the rear had to unsolder one of the wires tht goes to the cone, so that I could verify which direction the cone traveled when I put 9v to it. So after that I can tell you that the terminals for the rear positive is the grey with purple. Keep in mind that this assumes ford wired the rear speakers straight polarity and not reverse. The fronts verified what someone else had already posted and is stated in first post.

Ok after much playing around my findings scratch everything above. The grey/purple that goes to both left and right rear is negative. I found continuity between them. Also I was having a muddy base problem and tried to unplug one low level input to the sub amp and the base tightened up instantly. I think the rear is using a common ground for both speakers. Not sure how that works but I have seen it before. So I switched to the front speaker wires from the head unit and presto everything sounds great. I also 9v checked the polarity of the door speakers before I swapped them and found the colors right but the polarity was opposite in my truck. The yellow/red on right and blue on left were connected to the speaker positive terminal from the factory. Hope this helps someone so you don’t have to go thru what I have.

Take a look at my new thread “lessons learned stock radio”. I cut off the mounts for the stock sub woofer and amp on the wall behind the rear seat. I was able to use stock studs and one car seat mount to put up a piece of painted plywood. I didn’t have to drill any holes in the truck. I mounted both amps and line converter to that and both woofers are under drivers side rear seat.

Ford Maverick Base speaker wire schematic PXL_20240511_224241432
ive got a 2024 Ford maverick, and I'm installing some subs. Also going with a line output converter, but I'm having second thoughts on which is the positive wire on the factory rear speakers. I've pulled out the panel and all. There is a GREEN/PURPLE wire and a solid GREY wire. Any help would be nice.

I have a Hybrid, so my wiring is different. Are the connectors that connect to the speaker different sizes? Usually they are. Manufacturers do this intentionally so it easier to connect positive and negative terminals correctly. If this is the case for you, this will tell you which wire is positive and which is negative. Hopefully this is helpful.
