DD amber back lights useless?

Just installed my DD fog light set. After running test everything looks great. But am I missing something or are the amber background lights on our vehicle pretty much useless ? I see no option for driving with them on,

they are only meant to be marker lights. not blinkers. They should always be on if the other marker lights on the bumper are on.

Sorry I wasn’t clear on what markers. DD foglights have built in amber lights. You have fog lights on when headlights are used or their backligts when only stock running lights are on.
if you drive with DLR lights, you will be running the main fog lights. No manual override to use their ambers in the fog fixture

If you wire the switch in that included with the kit, You can turn off the fog lights and still have the backlights work. The backlights are wired in separately from the fog lights and will always be powered as long as the truck's marker lights are powered. The backlights will always turn off if the fog lights are on though.
