There has been lots of talk on this forum about rattling dashboards in the new Mavericks. Thanks to somebody who posted a fix that his wife recommended I was able to ascertain that the rattling is coming from the dash not fitting tightly against the windshield posts, on both sides. The photo shows the foam that I gently packed into the cracks with a thin, small screwdriver and the size of the foam. The rattle is 100% fixed.

Try tucking it in a little more.

Many comments about speaker grills rattling against the piller post, but many have rattles coming from defroster vent on right side that is a hard one to reach and fix

I've noticed that every so often, I get a rattle from the passenger rear. Probably on the c-pillar somewhere. It comes and goes. It drives me nuts. The dash rattle hasn't reared its ugly head in quite a while.

Why not just take off the pillar paneling though? They should come off easy enough. Not saying rip apart the whole dash but if you identify the problem in a specific spot behind that paneling you might want to make sure the foam is secured instead of just shoving it in there where it could fall out or come loose again.

I too have a rattle either in the dash, or near the mid front window speaker, in my 2023 XLT. Locating the exact point of the rattle is difficult, as it only happens when driving down a road with a rough surface! Living in Florida and the truck sitting out in the sun, I would not expect the window foam to last long, but to dry out and become a powder. However, I may give it a try to help pinpoint the location of the rattle. If the rattle stops, then I know it is where I put the foam in! Should it turn out to be the speaker wiring, the dealer is likely the one to repair that. I still have seven months of warranty.

By the way, I just received a letter from Ford about a recall on the taillight warning. It requires a software change. Anyone else get the letter?

I will be calling the dealer Monday morning to set up an appointment. Seems odd that it should take a half day to reflash the computer with the software fix!

I got the letter also and then got a call from a local Ford Mobile Service Tech. He said he could come by my house and fix it in about 45 minutes. Just waiting for the weather to warm up a bit and then will schedule a time. Nice that I don't have to take it to the dealer!
