I’m installing my new intercooler on Saturday and wanted to see if I could get some feedback about something. Some pictures and videos of the unit it sits low in the front bumper, like half covering the IC at the bottom with a noticeable gap at the top. Yet other mavericks with the IC that gap is much less or not noticeable. Is this the pics playing tricks on me or is there someway you guys are getting it mounted higher to fill the front bumper opening. I mean @TORQUERULES looks damn nice in his bumper, apparently without cutting. So it seems there is a lot on the spectrum with this installed in terms of aesthetics go. I do have a non FX4 if it matters but I just trying to prepare myself if I need to do some slight modifications to make it sit better in there. If you need pictures of what I’m talking about I’m sure I could dig some up. Thanks

I elongated the bolt holes at the bottom of the bumper where it bolts to the underbelly pan area. That way I was able to pull the bumper out a little bit in order to keep it from having to be trimmed. It still touches a little, but not much. Better than the nasty looking trimming. As far as covering a little bit of the intercooler, I think most of them do to some extent. It should not hurt its ability to cool at all. Mine may have a half inch that sits below the bumper opening. Honestly there's more exposed than the factory intercooler, plus it is much larger.

Thanks man, trying to get everything together before I get in there. The top gap was more of my concern. It just kinda looked rigged in a few I’ve seen. Like you said some of them look really ummm “noticeable” especially once the front is trimmed out. That little tip will help a lot so I appreciate the time and response. Killer build on your maverick also

Got it on, I’ll post pics as I can. No cutting of the bumper but I did drill holes to move it forward to keep it off the IC some. Overall it wasn’t a bad job.

Funny thing is my IC is grey, like a battleship grey powder coat not a brushed aluminum. I mean I was thinking about grey wheels so I works
