I'm sure others have done it, but I like how mine turned out. Added a 12v outlet and 2 usb plugs into the cubby on my Mav. Liked how it looks but if someone else where to do it I would suggest installing into the curved face of the cubby as it would be easier to install 
I chose to put them inside the cubby as on the other side I have the inverter plugs, and I use the cubby for ratchet straps and cam straps, so I still wanted full use of it.

finished up all nice and clean!
