On my first Maverick I installed a 12v charger on the interior of the cubby. It was up and out of the way and proved useful. Though on occasion I would fill the cubby with other stuff so access was limited.

I have seen many great looking installs of the power panels. For me, while I love the look, they aren't practical.

I saw on another post someone suggest using the 12v cover as a mounting spot. I went for it today and am super happy with the results.

I shortened the provided pigtail, attached it to the 12v plug and connected to the car. Easy, gave up no cubby use.

I have seen that as well. Did you drill the original plug? Looks good :)
If it was me, I would probably put a little heat shrink over the terminals.

That is an awesome solution. You really need to straighten out the cover so the "12v" is right side up though. Triggering my OCD. :ROFLMAO:

Great idea/catch on the heat wrap for the connectors. Will do.

Lol. My OCD kicked in too, this way when I pop the cover it stays out of the way. I sat there "do I want it to work as I want or to look better?". I went with function but no certain in my choice.

I did drill through the original over. It worked out. Not a lot of room for error.

You just can't leave it like that! Even straight upside down would be better than that monstrosity. Post pics when you fix it so my OCD calms down. 😂

You can rest easy now. Unless you left the iron on.
