I'm in Florida and worried about PetG in the car melting I found a few upgrades that I wanted to print but I was going to do ASA. So two part question 1 how long have you had the upgrades in the car? and two any issues?
ASA would probably be the perfect filament, but petg is way easier to print and doesn't release fumes. I've only just printed this yesterday but with several 100 degree days coming up here in north Texas, it won't take me long to see how it holds up. I'll report back this weekend.

What filament did you use on this?
I did not make this, BUT for ease of printing and use if you have a 3D printer PETG will be the easiest filament with higher temp and UV resistance. You could also always print in PETG and then paint it for some more UV protection. Also print with at least 4 walls in your perimeter and a decent % infill.

If you print with PLA or PLA+ it will only take a few hot days to warp bend and then fail.

I have a printer and can print in petg. I am just debating do I pay a buddy to print some things in Asa for me or do I risk petg

Good question. I like it mainly because I get notifications on the phone that don't show up in carplay, like myQ garage door or Ring cameras. Also I'm hard of hearing and can't always understand when Siri reads a text. When that happens I can bring it up on the phone.

I just did some experimenting in the driveway, and found you can control your music without taking navigation off the screen, and while it won't show two nav programs at once, it will put turn by turn on the phone.

But yeah, for most people it's probably just needless duplication, or just a nice place to charge your phone.

If it's for a maverick cubby, it'll work on any maverick. The cubby doesn't change for 2022-2024

I'm right next door in Louisiana and have had some PLA parts in the truck for a few weeks and everything is holding together so far. We will see once August hits.

I have printed many things for car interiors in PETG and never had a melting failure (more than a few abuse failures though).
