Courtesy Lights

As i was trying to put stuff under the rear seats in my XLT
I noticed a Red Plastic lens on the door edge near the bottom Checked all the other doors
and have the same lens. Wondering if these are Courtesy lights? Nothing
in the book that I saw. Tried all the light setting etc. and nothing. Maybe
its for the Lariat or Lux tiers? Anybody have an idea. Thanks Ed

Yes, they could and by the time they "put all the suggestions" on this truck, it would be a $40,000 starting price and not $19,995. It's a Great Truck for the price, be happy that Ford made a "Right Sized" and "Right Priced" truck to slay the Giants of the truck world.

I believe it is a DOT requirement. Otherwise I’m sure they would not be there at all.

Yeah I believe you either have to have a reflector or a light there, close to the edge. Have had plenty of cars with one or the other, and some with both.

Oddly our G70 in this specific "6-speed" trim (new MSRP $39,960) just has reflectors as well.
