I see that getting to the light on the passenger side is easy through the inner fender, but the driver’s side is different and harder to impossible. What is behind the left side fender flap that is in the way? Is it possible to get it out from there? Or is the only way to pry it out from the outside? I’ve tried taking it out from the outside as shown in videos, but it doesn’t work for me. Got the fancy Lasfit tool set and have tried, but the metal is flexing and bending and the light stays solid where it’s at. These are the only two non LED external bulbs left on the truck and wanting to get them changed, preferably without destroying anything.
Thanks for any info.. Tom

Follow the manual and carefully pry from outside.

Believe there are other comments in this forum and on YouTube that explain how to do this.

Driver's side: There's.... something in there. I just used a pry tool to get the housing out. Replaced the bulb. Made sure it worked. Popped it back in.
I did passenger side first and pulled the felt of the fender liner out. Reached in. Squeezed the side of the housing and popped it out.

Yeah, I’ve watched the videos and have worked on it several times until it got to the point of “I’m going to stop before I break something”. I’ll get the passenger side out and see exactly how it’s held and maybe have a better idea as to how to pry on the other one. Will pull the fender felt stuff back and have a look to see exactly what’s in there that’s blocking access.

Yeah, it's super easy and took me about 15 minutes, if that long.

Ok. I’ve read that it was there somewhere from threads about it getting fried from going through deep water.
Thank you for the info.🙂

My preference is to go from underneath. If you remove the engine shield, like you are doing an oil change, there is a straight shot to the lights on each side. It's too far to reach by hand, but if you use something like a long pry tool or bar, all you have to do is push the clip back a little (close the V part of the clip) and the light will pop right out. No risk of damage to the paint on the outside.

Thank you! It's supposed to be nice out Sunday, I'll take the plate off and have a look.

🤓 If I had something to get off, like the little lights on either side of the front lower fenders, or the fender vents I used this.
to edit this it was kind of easy. I just sat on the ground next to the car and popped those little lights right out. Put the new bulbs in put the lights back in place and everything works just fine.

Passenger side was a breeze through the inner fender well felt. Driver side was a no-go unless you've got long arms and they're skinny like a child, took less than a minute to do the driver side using a plastic pry tool with a microfiber cloth covering the paint.

Easy but nerving job. I replaced my lights with brighter LED. I can hardly see at night when making turns. The brighter LED helps. I used masking tape to protect paint and plastic tools included in bike tube replacement kits.
