If you have the VIN, you can totally do this as of now. Don't need to have the truck in hand. With a VIN they will give you a pretty accurate quote.Have you looked at the Carvana and Vroom asking prices for these Mavericks? I have no doubt you could flip the first one for a profit with little to no hassle.
I did it with my VIN at Carvana and Vroom and the highest was Vroom which offered $35,000. That is for a Lariat Lux hybrid with 10 miles which would've been about $34,500 after taxes. The prices aren't what they used to be.If you have the VIN, you can totally do this as of now. Don't need to have the truck in hand. With a VIN they will give you a pretty accurate quote.
Yeah, it can be hit and miss. I am holding out hope that we see resale prices spike once the 2023 order banks close. There are going to be folks who miss the 2023 orders and be "jones-ing" for a Maverick. Demand for used will go up again I think.I did it with my VIN at Carvana and Vroom and the highest was Vroom which offered $35,000. get em and race them, LOLI (mistakenly) have 2 Maverick orders from Oct 2021: one is built and expected to arrive Oct 8-14 and the other is scheduled for production next week (but already bumped once).
Here's the conundrum:
Dealer 1 will not honor the X-Plan price still and continues to push me off until the sales manager returns from vacation sometime next week. The have offered MSRP but at an MSRP that is ~$1500 higher than when I ordered. I provided the order sheet I have which shows a higher price and they have not produced what was submitted on their end. The original salesperson is no longer at this dealership.
- Order 1: I told the dealership to cancel this order the day after placing it, they apparently never did. The dealer would not honor my X-Plan pricing (I work for a Ford supplier) so I moved on to another local dealer. However, this truck is now built and on the way
- Order 2: Ordered at X-Plan price, scheduled for production next week, but who knows if it will continue to slip
Dealer 2 will honor X-Plan but no confirmation on when the truck will be here (not the dealer's fault). This dealer has been easier to work with and I'd like to give them my business. I've asked about transfering the truck from dealer 1 and then dealer 2 can "trade" back my other Maverick when it arrives, but nobody likes this idea.
What would you do? Any recourse I have with dealer 1 since they submitted an order in my name but did not cancel when instructed to do so? They appear to be trying to blow me off and sell the car to someone else at a markup.
I tested it with Carvana and Vroom, lowball offers. Some have suggested there may be better sites to sell new cars but I think the market has turned and there is not a lot of $ to be made flipping it.If you have the VIN, you can totally do this as of now. I hear you, if I were still not scheduled and heard someone debating how to handle 2 orders I'd be pissed! This case was definitely on the first dealer. The order went in on a different sales order number than what is on my order sheet. I had no idea this order was not canceled until I got the email from Ford that my truck was scheduled for production. So, I keep seeing this trend. All of these people are coming out saying that they have this "issue" of having one Maverick being built/scheduled and second being built/scheduled and they don't know what to do. In this OP case, it sounds like they tried to cancel the original order. Good on them. But what the hell is up with these people putting in 2, 3, 4 or more orders to better their odds and then not cancelling once one was scheduled?! Everyone is complaining that the the dealerships put in a bunch of bogus orders and that is what has this system all screwed up, but in reality it's all of these duplicate retail orders by actual people just so they might have a better chance of getting one built. Either don't put in duplicate orders, or CANCEL your duplicate orders once scheduled! You're screwing everyone else! Again, OP, good on you for at least attempting to cancel your first order.
Enter the vin into carvana, vroom, etc., and see what they will give you. The numbers might surprise you. Free money.Yes I considered this but honestly I am not interested in the hassle of selling private party and I don't think there is money to be made flipping it to a CarMax or equivalent
It's a Lariat Hybrid full lux package and CP360, carbon gray, spray in bedliner ...

Honda dealer in South Jersey was asking 36K for an XLT with CoPilot and 11K miles. Sticker on it was 24 and change.I tested it with Carvana and Vroom, lowball offers. Yep. And if you enter a Maverick VIN on CarMax you get a message that they need to see the vehicle in person to provide an offer.Enter the vin into carvana, vroom, etc., and see what they will give you. The numbers might surprise you. Free money.
nevermind I see you did that.

If I am ever in a spot to need to sell, I have a list of "online" car buyers that I am going to run thru one right after another to see what happens.
