It’s somewhere in the dash. The truck is a 2.0 XLT. The tone never changes in pitch, or volume, less twice when it was far louder, though even then it held the same pitch and volume for the duration of the drives…
I'll bet it's the fuel injector pump. If truck's ice is on its on!

That’s initially what I though, but why would that continue to run several minutes after the truck is shut off?

Ok.... I found this post here on MTC. Looks like EB has a second electric auxiliary water pump...
RE: thinking. Most modern turbochargers like the borg warner in the ecoboost are a) water cooled, the ecoboost even has an auxiliary electric water pump pushing coolant through the system and turbo to remove heat even when the car is not running, like during an auto stop situation and b) most...

For months my wife has complained of a non-stop high pitched sound inside my truck, much like a dog whistle. I've never heard it until one day a month ago, and it was incredibly annoying. While she seems to hear it every time she's with me, it was only yesterday that I heard it again, for the full duration of my drive. The obvious guess was the stereo. Turning it off made no difference. AC off, no difference. Turned the engine off, no difference. Opened the door to kill the whole system and removed the key, and it's still there. It eventually stopped several minutes later after sitting in the driveway.
Because of the pitch, it's nearly impossible to pinpoint the location. Opening the hood, it can't be heard at all. As best I can tell, it's most likely coming from somewhere near the drivers side dashboard.
Any clues what. this could be?
Hi Greg! I can look into your maverick's noise concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your maverick's VIN?
