Console Slot - What does it do?

Just got my Mav last month and still going through manual, but I can't find anything on what this slot does.

Is it to hold one credit card? That just doesn't make sense.

Anyway, I'm not going to stick something in there until I know what it does. (that's what she said)

Many of the control unit sensors are located under the center console. Maybe the slot is related to that?

I used it for a CC, Once. Now it just collects dust and debris, and maybe even liquids..but I'm not that messy in my vehicle.

Guy buys a boat. It has a hole in the floor. Dealer gives him a little black rubber plug. I'm betting....and GOD I hope i'm right....that when guy gets boat home .....he KNOWS to put the little black round rubber plug into the HOLE in the bottom of the boat...without having to call the salesman back.
