Last night, while driving on a rural highway in moderate rain (wipers on low), my 24 hybrid XLT with 360 beeped loudly at me, put up a "Collision Assist not available message" and a couple others, and turned on both the "service soon" wrench and CE lights. Windshield was clean, and the wipers are brand new. Defroster was on low. Truck drove normally for the rest of the way home, roughly 20 miles.

This morning the service soon wrench was off, but CEL still on; then this afternoon the dash was normal.

The Ford App sent me these four (!) errors:

Powertrain system fault
Illuminates when the system has detected a power train or a four wheel drive fault

Service engine soon
The powertrain control module lost communication with heater ventilation air conditioner module for period of time. This alert may invoke additional alerts and some heating ventilation air conditioning features may not function as expected when the fault is present.

Collision Assist Unavailable
The Collision Warning system has detected either a system fault or an obstructed radar sensor.

Service engine soon
The engine system.has detected a fault.

I will bring it to the dealer to see what they say. But have any of you had this happen? What was it?
My guess is water somewhere it's not supposed to be, but it wasn't raining *that* hard.
Thanks-

See the similar threads section at the bottom of this thread. Also the search feature top right of page for Powertrain system fault, Collision Assist Unavailable, etc. There's been a good number of post, theirs probably some good info on the subject/issue.

Have you had all the recalls performed on it?

Without knowing the actual dtc codes tripped this could be any number of things.

I had a recurring code for battery charging system for no reason I could find. Took it to dealer and they found rodent damage. That's chewed wires and not covered by warranty. I am pretty good electrician so I repaired it myself. It took longer to find both ends of the wires than to repair them. Your problem my be due to outside interference.

Ever since I saw a chipmunk looking out from the grill area (and bucket trap caught him later) - I wonder when the problem is going to show up.
I'm sure it's something somewhere.

And any new rabbit or squirrel that runs out from under - how much more undershield are they chewing away. What was that chipmunk just doing. Ugh.

Strong peppermint extract in a couple of holey bottles tied underneath - don't know how effective they are.

Squirrels got the second alternator harness on my 02 diesel. I don't have a second alternator but they ate just behind the connector for a second alt. A squirrel or rat cut a bunch of wires on my wife's 2015 escape and put it in limp mode and then the wires on the Mav. She (wife) found some stinky packets of cloves, cinnamon, fox urine, et. al. that we are keeping in various loctions under the hoods. Not sure they work, but my neighbors would object if I used my shotgun to eliminate the area problem.

How odd would it be to invite them all to a block party - held at park a little ways away - and you weren't there?

I was camping this weekend, so good thought. A friend with a Honda had that happen on a trip to Joshua Tree a few years ago and his dash lit up like a Christmas Tree, and stayed that way.
But now my lights went back out, and the dealer just looked and didn't see anything...OFC
(At least they didn't tell me "they all do that" LOL)
