Seems to tell yawning and head nods.
the driver alertness program in a Maverick doesn't use the mic and there is no inward-facing camera.

it's watching your ability to stay in your lane, how fast you react to curves, and how much steering input you are giving in general. (because if you're asleep - it's zero.)

if you wander in your lane, change lanes without signaling, understeer or react late to curves it will think you're tired.

Consistency in maintaining speed is another one. If you can't keep it consistent, at speed, it will trigger the warnings.

There's a inward camera tracking head and eye movement
that is incorrect.

only models with blue cruise have that, and only when blue cruise hands free driving is engaged.

Undecided
you can turn message off in your settings
If you don't like it and want to disable the warning:
  • Move the right-hand steering wheel menu control until the instrument cluster display shows a truck.
  • Find "Driver Assistance" and uncheck "Driver Alert"

^^ This. ^^

I find it useful, however. It has detected times when I was actually needing a break and coffee.
Yup. Mine went of once, and I was indeed tired and had been driving for 4-5 hours.

ISTR it is also deployed if you drive too long without stopping.

it was because of what you had been doing before that. usually it is when you are reacting slowly, driving outside the lines, and either tired or distracted.

the software generally isn't wrong but if there are poor lane markings due to construction, or bad visibility from glare, rain etc then it could get it wrong.
None of those circumstances are applicable here though.

hmm, hard to say why it triggered then. others mentioned they've seen it when driving too long without stopping, but since I have an ecoboost and I go long distances at high speeds, I literally can't drive much more than 5 hours without needing to stop to refuel. so if they're talking a hybrid in urban traffic for 6-8 hours without stopping, I wouldn't know.

at any rate, assuming it hasn't happened again and that you actually weren't tired, I'd let it ride unless it falsely triggers several more times... then I'd disable it.

This just happened to me in my 25 hybrid. I was going 75 on the highway and changed lanes without signalling (no other cars anywhere in sight before anyone says something) I assumed it just thought I was going off the road. It was pretty funny, it shows a little icon of a coffee cup

Back in the day when someone was weaving down the road they’d been drinking or,,,,

“I don’t know Whut that Marywanna is but if you bring it over here I’ll drink it !”

Turn off the lane keeping nanny and,
This may come as a shock to the participation trophy holders, but,
Drive the vehicle and quit playing with the infotainment screen, your phone and your,
Aww never mind.
I’ll get in trouble for saying that.

I haven’t seen this so I must be an “awesome” driver
I, however have seen it as a passenger and the driver deserved it:crackup:
