I haven’t seen this so I must be an “awesome” driver
I, however have seen it as a passenger and the driver deserved it

And likely when we don't have the option package for it to fire off.

If in an accident, you can bet they'll use it to attempt to go after the other driver, if your driving had been normal and not a clear-cut situation of whose at fault.
Then again if you'd been getting warnings and bad reactions right before an accident and it was your fault - they'll probably keep silent on the matter.
Except for raising your rates.

Many times I am aggravated that my generally safe driving and rate charges are probably subsidizing the terrible drivers I see around me.
Then again - half of them probably don't have insurance...

My concern is that on several occasions I have gotten warnings that were either inappropriate or non justified. My collision warning has gone off on several occasions when there was nothing anywhere close to me and I was not in danger of a crash of any kind. Just last week I was driving on a two-way street and a car parked on the side of the road was parked a little farther out into traffic than the others that were in front of him and behind him and that set the pre collision warning off. False alarms that happened on several occasions and for someone who might be looking at that data and didn't know any better they would just assume that I was a careless or reckless driver and then it might be up to me to prove differently.

Number one I can guarantee that no person is reviewing any of that data it's going to be via computer.

It is a Tattletale device.

Companies have found. Folks are willing to share their life for a couple bucks off. That goes for grocery loyalty plans too. Data mining is Big Money especially if they have access to your cell phone.

What they aren't willing to pay Ford or a data warehouse for.

Specific user data.

State Farm same way - huge expensive infrastructure already built, had a tech tell me few years ago they didn't seem willing to pay the current asking price from others, cheaper to keep their own system running.

They'll buy overall data info on locations, and make/models - to get a clue what area has "worse" drivers and what vehicles stand out.

While insurance companies always did that with their own data - the data warehouses (or Ford directly but that would be shortsighted) allows expanded knowledge not just after an accident happens, but what kind of foolishness happens in general.

Get on a 4 lane highway, drive over 70mph in the far left lane, then quickly cut over to the far right lane without putting your turn signal on
