Hey y’all! I have a 2024 Maverick XL with 15,000 miles bought November 2024 and just recently had this clicking issue at 14,750 miles. I start up the car and drive and then 2 seconds after the doors auto lock I get a clicking sound in the accelerator pedal. Only happens once while accelerating at the start of a drive and when the car has been turned off for more 10 minutes prior.

I took it to 2 ford dealerships and they said it’s maybe a relay sound of the computer which is considered “normal” and the other guy also said “turn your radio up”.

I’ll attack a video so you can hear. I’m just curious if this is something to be concerned about or if I need a repair. I have a roadtrip planned so I just need some insight thank you!

Interesting. Does your XL have different drive modes ie normal, eco, etc. Maybe drive in other modes to see if any change?

It does have the different drive modes and surprisingly happens with them on too.

Next time you drive starting from a “cold start”, let your Maverick warm up past the “high idle” stage. When the idle settles down to normal - begin your trip and see if that changes the noise? That’s all I got;) Good luck.

Not knowing what the noise is would bug me but not worry me.
Not sure if it is a normal sound that many hear but my crappy hearing prevent me from hearing it:)
