While in this sun visor thread, anyone replaced the tiny nearly useless visors with a larger one that actually has a chance to block some Sun?
I don't know about replacing the visor, but I do wish the visor had an extension that can be pulled out when the visor is positioned to block sunlight on the driver side window. Just about every vehicle I've owned had a visor with extension. It does come in handy at times.

"ExpoGuy",
You do not state what trim package you have XL, XLT or Lariat.
My XLT has an extendable visor.
As I show in the pictures below.

What was really nice was my Ford Taurus's had 4 windshield visors.
Both the driver and passenger had 2 visors. The main visor that you could pull down and swing over to the side window and then there was a second visor that you could pull down to the windshield.

I believe he is talking about a sliding extension. Like a plastic piece that is inside the visor and extends it increasing the total width.

You’re showing the movable visor.

I know exactly what he's talking about. I also believe "ExpoGuy" may not know that the visors slide 6" or so.
The cars that I owned that had a insert piece that slid out, did not have a sliding visor.
Good luck finding a visor that has a sliding insert. Since they started making sliding visors, they've quit making the insert Style.
Here is an alternative if you want really ugly and you must have a sliding insert.

I believe it's probably because of complaints like below that they've gotten rid of the sliding insert.
And instead made a movable sun visor.
The below is copied from the Mazda forum.
2018 CX-5: Can someone tell me what the purpose of the slide out plastic insert in the sun visor is for?
I slide out the plastic insert and it can hit the rear view mirror it also doesn't help much protecting sun coming in from the small gap between the visor and the rear view mirror. ...I can't close the visor with the plastic insert out as it hits the ceiling of the cabin. If I detach the side of the visor and rotate it so it protects the side of my face from the sun the insert is too far back to do anything.
So what is the purpose of this plastic insert?

Thanks guys. I didn't know the visor slides. That's good.

I was looking at the visor at the dealership but didn't notice that it slides.
Every time I visit this site I learn something new.

BTW, I ordered the 2025 Maverick AWD Lariat hybrid.
Along with the 4k tow package.

I kind of figured out that you didn't realize that it was a movable/sliding visor, especially when you were talking about the driver side window.
To me those little sliding inserts weren't that great.
Other than blocking the sun when it's coming in right at the rear view mirror and I needed something to block that area those little pull out pieces of plastic we're more in the way than anything else. Just like the article that I posted from the Mazda forum you had to retract it anytime you move the visor somewhere because it was in the way. I snapped one off on one of my cars when I pushed the visor back without retracting it.
Good luck with your new Maverick when you get it.
Take care and safe travels

They are a pita... What cracks me up as there's an actual wiring harness in the headliner for the visor lights even though the XLT and XLs don't have them in 24.

So if you wanted to upgrade to the lariat visors with lights you can do it without having to run any wires, as the connectors are already there and connected to the visors.

Update: 15 minutes later, that was a pain in the ass...

At least removing them isn't bad. You pop the plastic cover off first from all four sides, then remove the t20 torx screw. Next put the visors in their original position and tilt them back towards the windshield and they slide out.

Peeled mine off slowly, little by little, but also found heating them up with a hair dryer helped peel them off in larger pieces.
