We took delivery of our Maverick on Saturday and I thought I looked it over very carefully. But on Sunday after I finished installing the tonneau cover I decided to take a look underneath. I was shocked to see that under the front bumper large scrapes and gouges. I'm sure this happened during transport. Has anyone seen this on their truck?

Not great, but at least is is only cosmetic damage.

When I picked mine up, while checking the underside (it was fine), some big wig from the service department came out of the garage and asked me if I had lost something under the truck. I’m pretty sure he was joking. We then had a friendly conversation about the new and used car market in general, and the short supply of Mavericks in particular.

If you see that before leaving the dealer lot, you'd ask them to order a replacement part and come back for install later? I wonder how long it would take.

It is just only plastic damage and if you are going to do any off roading its gonna happen anyway. Seems like its damage from transport (tie down chains or straps). No one is really going to see it and looks like it won't effect anything regarding performance. I had a brand new Honda with a rashed wheel and right away complained and they swapped it out the next day. Then got a new Subaru with the metal skid plate rashed and was like eh I can't see it. Certain things you just gotta let go. But I do understand the frustration, like hey its new and cost $$$$$$ it shouldn't have a scratch on it.

From the way the market is going with these maverick, if you see something like this before taking delivery, the dealer would be super happy taking the maverick back.
