Not sure how many here are in to this kinda thing but I thought I would share anyway. I found this on the 1 gallon swamp milkweeds at work today! YAY!! Hopefully it turns into a Monarch because we need more of them!

As long as it isn't a Gypsy Moth caterpillar, no problems. Those bloody things hit my maple trees hard this year.

Good for it! Without it and other pollinators like it you wouldn't have any plums at all. Think about it.

It's a fine line but you can't have one without the other. :)

I love monarch butterflies. I'm naming my maverick Mariposa monarca. Did you ever put them in a jar and watch them make their cocoon, then emerge into the beautiful butterfly? I have milk weeds in my yard to attract them. I wish the road commission would stop mowing the road sides. I know why they do it, but it destroys the milk weeds in the process.

Love it. As a kid I was really into butterflies & moths. Had a collection. (Moth caterpillars make a cocoon, butterfly caterpillars make a chrysalis.) I even would buy foreign butterflies from a business in NY. These are but one example of God’s beautiful creation.

Saw this on the way into the breakfast room 4 years ago at lakeside resort in Bridgeton Maine. It had just emerged from the cocoon it's clinging to, still wet and unfurled.
