Check engine light came on at lunch time, what gives I thought ford pass would show me what the code was… hopefully it doesn’t progress, I still have 2 days of work before the dealer can get me in…

the only thing I’ve had an issue with is the below intermittent (twice) error. The fuel door is /was closed, and I didn’t have the error whenthe CEL came on…

Given it appears you are in NY and it’s cold and raining/snowing, check to insure there is no build-up inside the door preventing full closure.

Given it appears you are in NY and it’s cold and raining/snowing, check to insure there is no build-up inside the door preventing full closure.

Thanks, It's been warm (35F+) up until today, the two days the message showed up there wasn't any snow on the ground and I take it to the wash 'n swirl regularly... today the weather is pretty nasty though. I did fill the tank at lunch, and I'm hoping the light goes away on my way home, after I drive some... we'll see. I didn't notice any buildup inside the fuel door though.

Ford Pass doesn't tell you what the DTC is. But your dealer can look up up remotely.
If you want, send me your VIN and I'll tell you what code(s) you have.

Big thanks to Kev! He pulled the codes and hit the nail on the head.

Dealer stated it was a valve in the exhaust, and they had to order a whole new "muffler". Kev had already told me it was likely a heat exchanger. I didn't talk to the tech, just the service advisor who I'm guessing doesn't get as involved with the parts/process much. (Part was backordered)

A little more concerning is that I was told there's corrosion on one of the connectors, and it needs to be replaced. Living in the northeast I expect corrosion, but usually on body panels, and after 7-10 years... That part was ordered as well, and should be here in a couple days.

As far as the Fuel door issue I'm having, no diagnostic could really be done because the light wasn't on when I brought it in. They said when it happens again, drop by, and leave it running with the warning up... (seems to happen around 3/8 of a tank, at highway speeds)
