I bought the same thing at Harbor Freight. Works great when hauling long lumber!

I don't see a problem. It's not like it's on your truck all the time, right? Great thing about the Maverick, it makes us come up with solutions.I could have been more precise and thoughtful with the hole placement but it works!

I believe in CA it's 4 feet, but then again, I'm seeing folks drive 75-80 mph in a freeway construction zone (55 posted) and single drivers using the car pool lane without a care in the world.Just a reminder for some as I'm sure most know. In many states or possibly everywhere when you extend out a certain distance past your vehicle then you've got to put a flag on the end as a marker.
I looked on Ford's site. The trailer hitch extender is $309, and it's not as long as the one Whatcolortochoose got. The one from Harbor Freight is only $59 and looks to be more useful for longer boards. Good idea Whatcolor. So what did you modify? Just added another hole in the bar?
Thanks, I'm happy others find it useful!I looked on Ford's site. The trailer hitch extender is $309, and it's not as long as the one Whatcolortochoose got. The one from Harbor Freight is only $59 and looks to be more useful for longer boards. Good idea Whatcolor.
