Depends on your state. In Texas you get a Tax credit on the value of your trade which in this case would be close to $2k.Ok, I just want to understand it better and get my math right.
so let's use this as an example: https://www.carvana.com/vehicle/2811805
It has only 838 miles so we can say it's practically new. MSRP + TTL for a base XLT would be around $24,900 MSRP+$1600 Destination 2000 TTL = $28,500, and if you sell it to Carvana, I think they might give you $30,500 so they can make $2,000 - $3,000 on the truck gross (they have a lot of costs too). While a $2,000-$ 3,000 profit for the truck owner is great, if you flip it to get to the next truck, you still need to pay for TTL which probably makes the total cost a wash. Am I missing something?
I did a quick "get offer" thing on Carvana for my maverick. The offer is $32,300 for a 23 Hybrid XLT with about $1,600 options (CP360 + tow hitch + 400w invertor). I paid almost $30k out of the door after TTL. I am not sure if the $2,300 profit is worth it.
I don't mean to start a debate. I am just trying to figure out the math to see if it makes sense to sell this truck when my 24 order is here (24 order is almost identical and will be $2000 more expensive than the 23 one.
