I use Android Auto, and have never had any problems with it (OK, before a got a quality cord, I did, but not since). Anyhow, the other day while driving, I had an incoming call. I answered, but no one was there. I figured it was spam and they hung up. No problem. Later, another call, same thing. The next time I knew who was calling, but when no one was there, I figured it must be a butt call.

Nope, they were legit calls, and although the caller could hear me, I couldn’t hear them. Everything else works fine. I can voice text, retrieve texts, give Waze directions, etc. Everything thing is fine except for hearing the speaker on incoming calls.

Anyone have any ideas what the situation is and how to fix it?

Silly me, I thought phone calls were strictly a bluetooth thing.

try re-pairing your toys. some have reported issues like this while using other AA functions like Waze.

This... Make sure privacy call under phone settings in the radio is disabled.

This☝

AndroidAuto recently got a app update for the phone, which may have changed this setting inadvertently, on some devices.

Had this issue lately - had to delete and reconnect Ford Mav bluetooth on my phone. That seemed to do it.
It affected my wireless and wired AA connections, also! (I use the MA1 wireless AA around town, plug in for longer trips - both weren't working for calls)

This is the setting you need to make sure is Disabled. You can find it under Settings in your head unit then under Phone.

It's the Mute Audio in Privacy, Make sure that's Disabled. For some reason it's never been enabled on my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, but when I added my new Pixel 9 Pro XL it was automatically Enabled and I couldn't figure out why I couldn't hear the person on the other line when using the phone connected Bluetooth to the head unit.

If that doesn't work for you, try deleting your phone then re-add it.

I haven't had any issues at all. I can even say, "hey google", wait for it to answer, and then tell it to call whomever I want. Seemless. I can even tell google to text someone and talk to it to tell it what to say. Android auto makes the Maverick Head Unit become my phone.

That was my experience for 2 1/2 years. Until 2 weeks ago.

I have the same problem. I have tried every fix I can find on the Internet. Supposedly this is a known issue with Ford sync, though I have had my truck over a year and it just started. I love my pixel phone but this is driving me nuts
