Took my old Samsung G7, no longer cell-service connected, loaded Android Auto, connected it to the Maverick WiFi, plugged it in and there was a map! Didn't pair its bluetooth with the vehicle, so my new phone can pair and connect for hands-free. Disabled apps that take power and just leave it plugged in. So far, the map and apps come up every time I push Start.

Also paired the new phone to WiFi to reduce cell data usage

What APP on your Samsung G7 are you using to play your music files? I used to use Google Play, but it is discontinued. I now use Amazon Music, but it is too complicated. I need a free, simple MP3 player APP for my old Android phone.

VNC. VLC. Just remember to make sure it has permissions to your files - For some reason it sometimes forgets to ask for permission to actually find music.

EDIT: VLC, not VNC. Brain no work good.

Yeah, Amazon Music was my choice app for a while but they have made some changes to it. My playlists no longer work for songs on the SD card, only songs I have downloaded from Amazon. It used to see everything on the phone for a playlist but the last update removed SD card songs for some reason. have used VLC a time or two as well, kind of sucks Google Play went away that one was pretty good.
