This is supposed to be an entertainment website, not the Queen's funeral. And the Queen is dead now so we don't need all that British formality anymore...
I disagree. This is informational. Facebook has a Maverick group that seems suitable for you. I suggest you check it out.

I'm trying to install a tailgate assist, but I can't for the life of me get the bottle opener off. The bolts just spin in space, with zero give on the tie down. Using a T30 Plus bit, so the heads are fine. Any tips on how to get these out? Are the threads stripped on both of them?
Be careful as they can strip out. Honestly, The tailgate is so light I don’t see the need. I prefer to leave that tie down point right where it is. Just saying. Once again, be careful.

First its not a bottle opener its a tie down for when the tailgate is down. Secondly, I love my tailgate assist. So convenient when my hands are full and I just open the gate and it slowly lowers instead of crashing down.

Mine came off with no problem. Didn’t even have to remove the tailgate liner. Just used a ratchet wrench.
Works great as a bottle opener as well as a tie down.

I ordered a set of tie downs from eBay that were supposed to replace the tie down we lost. These don’t fit… Did you managed to find an adequate replacement for yours?

I've read this comment from many others. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WEIGHT OF THE TAILGATE!
It's an acceleration thing. The assist is a DAMPER. Reduces the speed of the tailgate moving.

Hi Dave,
I think somebody, avised Sam back in post #14. That indeed, it was referred to by Ford and reviewers as a bottle opener. 😁
Have a great weekend.

I agree with you on acceleration.
That said, the Maverick tailgate is not a lightweight when compared to my Nissan hardbody tailgate, Ranger tailgates and older Tacoma tailgates.
Have a great weekend.
