Delivery was supposed to be by 3/27/23. I had checked with the dealer last week and they said it was in Chicago and should have been here last Friday. I've tried the various tools and it can't seem to find my VIN (aside from the Ford Tracking, which hasn't updated since 3/3). Is it maybe having some of the recalls worked on in Chicago and being held up for that?

Do you have a rail car number? 3/27 was only yesterday, and in my experience those ETA's have not been the most accurate. My ETA on the Ford Tracker updated 3 or 4 times during shipment. It is most likely still sitting in a rail yard waiting for transport if I had to put my money on anything.

No rail number. The few sites I can find for tracking don't seem to be working or can't find my vehicle. I'm guessing the dealer used VinView to track it. I did find one site that output all of the "modules" but not really sure what the data is that it provided me (I'm guessing the various build stages on the assembly line).

Yeah that data won't have anything to do with tracking. What was your 3/3 update? shipped?

ah ok. Well you're timeframe does not seem too unreasonable for where you are in the country. Unfortunately without a railcar number, its hard to give any kind of reasonable guess as to where your truck is. A railcar number would at least tell you if your truck has made its full train journey or not yet.

I can only speak from my experience, and I can tell you my truck made it the ~1200 miles from Hermosillo to Houston, TX in 10 days. Considering the distance up to your neck of the woods is nearly double that, I wouldn't be surprised if it only just made it to its final destination in the last week, and is sitting in a train yard.

My truck sat in a train yard for 3 weeks, while others have had theirs get on a transporter within a few days; no real rhyme or reason. Just depends on when they can fill a transporter and head your way. Unfortunately all you can really do is wait at this time. Hope you hear something from the dealer soon.

Oh wow. I was thinking since it showed as being in Chicago that it was either sitting there waiting for a rail or for the recall repairs (since I've heard a few others mention that as an issue). I'm not sure how long it's already been sitting in Chicago.

Oh well, I guess I didn't expect to get it until June so I was already pretty excited about getting it sooner. It would have been better had I not known. :)

VA is still a few states over from IL, so it may be waiting to transfer to another train. If you look at your Window Sticker, you can find the ramp code at the bottom. That will at least tell you which state it will be ultimately unloaded at, and possibly the city.

Looks like Chicago is as far northeast as Union Pacific railway goes.

It will probably get transferred to CSX now and make its way south east to you.

Once you have your ramp code from your window sticker, you can look it up in the spreadsheet here.

OK. Ramp code RA2L. Searched that thread and while it's not in the spreadsheet another user indicated that's probably Hampton Roads, VA. Guess I'll be waiting a bit longer.

That tracker is not very accurate. Mine still says ETA 3/24 and status is “in transit.” It arrived at the dealer on pi day 3.14.

Recall work if required should be done at your dealer when it gets there.

Well not really. Originally it was ordered 10/25/2021. 11/14/2022 is when it was converted to a 2023 model. Things moved very quickly after dealer took spray in bed liner off the order.

im in same boat but i got a railcar number and your locations closely matches my timeline and they are going to the same ramp to get offloaded so lets assume our trucks are on the same train. My truck shipped 3/7 per tracker with arrival 3/26-4/5 going to Williamsburg VA. Train was just south of Chicago and bounced between Illinois and Indiana a few days before that, stopped in Elk Hill Indiana over the weekend, yesterday was a big travel day and train car made it from Ohio to Roanoke. It has been sitting in Roanoke since 236am 03/28, no change to location as of this post. If you want to PM me i will do what I can you keep you updated on a train that may or may not have your mav on it
