I asked my dealership if they could change my priority code and they said that Ford sets it. To which I responded by saying it was my understanding that ford sets it from 1-9 or 1-10, but that the dealership sets it from 10/11-19. Can someone more in the know than I confirm?

You are correct. Dealership sets anything 10 or above (including over 19 for stock orders). Anything under 10 is done by ford (usually to 2). Ford "suggested" that MY22 orders that were rolled over to be set to 10 and all new orders to be 11 or 15.

My new 2023 Tremor is first in the Tremor line at the dealership and they set mine to 15. I didn’t get scheduled in the first pull last week.

And in the end the dealer priority codes 10-19 are only effective for their own orders. So, it doesn’t do anything for you relative ALL the Maverick orders in the world.

And that is how it should be. Your dealer probably used 10 and 15. 10 is for roll-over orders and 15 for non-rollover. When the dealer has allocation, Ford will first look at all the 10's and try to fill those first. It might be a case where Ford says "this dealer gets 3 allocations this month with 2 being XLT or Lariat ECO and one being an XLT Hybrid". However, if for some reason Ford allocates a Tremor to your dealer then they will skip over all the 10's and your order will get placed.

Mine is set as 19. I was hoping they could bump it up, as far as I could tell it doesn't do anything to or for them and might help me. I dont know.

who did you ask at the dealership?

salespersons may not know, especially if they are new - and it's a high turnover job. anyone is capable of lying, least of all a salesperson, but generally they wouldn't about something like this so I'm assuming they didn't know how it actually worked.

and I'm certain that numerous people at your dealership are very familiar with how it actually works. sometimes dealers just don't want to mess with things like this so they'll claim ignorance or that it's someone else's job (which is very possible), and you might find that person conveniently isn't available to discuss it.

Priority 19 is the default # set automatically when the dealer places your order, From there the clerk at the dealership can request a lower # but having gone down this road with my order it really didn't effect the actual order that my Maverick went down the production line. People spend to much time worrying about their Priority code when you should just sit back a sip on a cocktail 🍹and wait for Ford's email saying your truck has shipped 😉
