I have a 2023 Hybrid XLT. Can backup warning be added somehow? I had it on last vehicle a Ecosport. It would beep if you got to close to an object backing up. . My buddy backed into a car the other day with his F150. Which made me wish I had that feature now.

I know there are aftermarket add on's just wondering if you smart ones out their know if you can add the factory one to my XLT Hybrid

i did the same thing in my one week old mav, right on the drivers side bumper corner, i guess the pre collision or cross collision dont alert or brake for that , its that damn dial selector had to look down to select drive from reverse so took my eyes off the screen

Pre-collision is forwards looking only. And unless you have a Lariat with the backup sensors (so 22 Lux or 23 Assist) the regular CP360 won't trigger off stationary objects or behind the vehicle.

Theoretically it might be possible to add the OE style system. FORScan would be needed to modify values probably in the BCM, IPC, and infotainment.

The 4 reverse sensors have 6 wires going to the Parking Assist Module (PAM) which is mounted on the rear wall looks like near the center seatbelt retractor. This fella, I think?

That has 4 wires of its own: power from the BCM, ground, and HS2 Can +/-
Uses connector WPT-1447 (same style as the forward camera).

this is dead on. it could be done in just this way, but it's a LOT more work and cost than just buying the add-on parking sensors from Amazon.

and, if I'm honest, the backup sensors are not that great on my Lariat. I have owned vehicles that sensed things more than 1 row away while parking, and that's annoying, but the maverick is the opposite of that. there is probably a happy medium between nuisance and ineffective, but many times vehicles will drive behind me - that I've seen and stopped for - and the backup sensor either doesn't alert at all, or it is very late.

either way, I'm not very impressed and if you want this capability, I would just go aftermarket for all these reasons.
