For those with NON-lariat lux trucks only please!

Would anyone with a working front USB port be able to pull open their USB panel (just two pop clips that pull right out as you pull toward the back of the vehicle), locate the cable that goes into the USB port with part number “NZ6T-14D202-AA” and trace it to see where it connects to and take a picture of the connection type?

Some of us were unlucky and didn’t get this cable with our trucks. I would buy it but it is on back order :( if I can find where it connects and what connector is on the other end I can make one myself. Thank you very much in advance! I’ve attached some pictures to show what I’m describing:

Just curious. Are you asking to trace the wire harness through the dash?

(I ask based from the info provided, it looks like there are 2 connectors going into the back of the USB-C port, so you want to add another?)

I don't think the top picture is OP's truck. It's just for reference to show the cable that he is missing.

Easy-peasy. You need to remove the ac controls above as well, 5 clips. It is a 90-degree mini USB male as well...took longer to do this post.

No problem at all, how in hell did they leave the factory without those anyway?

You got me  I understand mistakes happen though but when I went into the dealer to get it fixed they just sat on it for almost three days without even trying so I took it back and wanted to just fix it myself. Per other reports the cable is on back order so I’m now browsing ford parts for similar cables in other vehicles. When I find one that works I’ll share here so that others can have a working head unit interface 🙂

I have been back to the dealer twice to get it fixed. I have another appointment Thurs. and I'll hand them this. Hopefully, they will not keep the truck till the part comes in. I did verify that the cable is missing on my truck as well.

If they still can't get the cable, you can do what I did and fix it yourself with a $6 part and a little finagling:

Works fine until the Ford part is available.

Went back Thursday The dealer and showed them the photos from this thread. They ordered the part. Waiting for a call. I'm afraid to touch anything myself. The Service Consultant wants to blame the customer. The first time I brought it in he blamed my phone cord. The second time, the charger adapter plugged into the cigarette outlet. Lord knows what he would do if he knew I rigged up my own cable.

Just is kind of an understatement.

let's see how long it takes for the dealer to figure out that cross reference of parts. :sneaky:

Finally able to post positive news!

Since the cable for our truck is out of stock, I purchased one for a transit van:
https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/electrical/wire-and-cables/cable-assy-8445415-1#/heroImgDiv

It is a mini USB on each end with connectors that fit into the plastic receptacles in our trucks. It is basically the same length (1 ft) and is plug and play! If you don’t want to wait on a part from your dealer, just order one of these that are in stock 🙂

pics (BUT NOTE it looks like the part number on the bag is different than the one I purchased; I believe that they are identical part numbers):
