How much does that weigh?
20-30lbs maybe. Not all that much, I was moving it around with one arm. At the very very most, 40lbs. I didnt notice any sort of drop in the front after I put it on. I had a tape measure on top of the drivers side tire that was just about a perfect fit from top of the tire to the wheel well ceiling and it was just that like when I was over.

That's not bad. But that makes it more if a for looks piece. I have seen light ones do a lot of damage in accidents since they bend and hit things that might not have been hit without it mounted. I would be interested in seeing one after a hit. Still looks like a nice piece and I bet it would make some people think twice about cutting you off.

I'm not sure how it would handle in an accident. It felt tough but after the headaches of putting it on, I feel like if I had to ever be in a situation where it needed to come off, like an accident, I'm just going to sell the damn truck. If they were able to make the brackets fit a little better and not require so much cutting and struggling, I'd have been ok with it.

For the steelcraft one you do. Not a fun task putting it back on with the guard installed. Definitely the least enjoyable car project I’ve done and I’ve done a ton over the years. My guess is that the instructions were from 2022 because there were some subtle differences in the 2023. The little thing that beeps when in reverse was in the way. Had to move it. As a side note, if this was disconnected and the truck put into reverse, would this cause a check engine light? I have one now and not sure why that is. I’ll have to check the code tomorrow.

Dang that looks slick. Really, really tempted to order one for myself. Shame to hear install is a PITA.

Your steelcraft brush guard looks fantastic. I think it would look good with a keko sports bar. I ordered the keko sports bar and will install it when it comes in (easier install). Then decide if i can handle the brush guard.

I put a ranch hand on the F150. Think that install took about 30 minutes. The steelcraft one is very similar but just a more “diet” version.

For anyone curious, I just made a 1000 mile trio around Florida so pretty flat land and my average mpg was 36.7 with the bumper (now I did lose a piece of the underbody shielding a few hours into the trip which could account for a single mpg). Prior to the bumper I was getting around 43,8 mpg on similarly long trips through GA and AL (so slightly more terrain).

I’ll be honest, I didn’t think I’d see such a reduction but considering I have another bumper in the shed, I may see about cutting that one up so it’s little strip like that other bumper someone posted on here. I’ll use that most of the year and then will use the big one during deer season. The brackets were the hardest part to put on. Securing the bumper to the brackets is a piece of cake and so I’ll just swap them as needed.
