I was notified today my build is complete Sunday 12/29, how long from complete to delivey at dealership?
Edit, it shipped today Monday 12/30. I'll keep posting updates!

Wait until it is shipped.

Expect 2 to 8 weeks from Shipped date. It may sit in the final rail yard for up to a month, awaiting pick up by ground trans. to your dealer. But that's probably worst case. Mine sat in the final rail yard for about 3 weeks.

There are countless threads and at least two Ford Video Guy (Tim at Long McArthur Ford in Salina, Kansas videos) on this topic.

Shortest answer:

• The time it may sit waiting for a train car varies (it is not predictable). Some of the earlier builds were later produced in front of them. They might get on a rail car first. They may try to get the first built out before the last built... or they might not. Thus, your ship date can vary from days to weeks. It also depends upon how many are ready to ship to the final distribution point (where they are off-loaded from a rail car and picked up by a truck going to your dealership).
• The time it takes to get to Nogales, Arizona, is relatively predictable. Yet, finding a train heading to your distribution point can vary.
• The time it sits in the distribution point until a truck delivers it to your dealer can vary.

I live in southern California, where plenty of trains are heading to our distribution point, and trucks pick up and deliver to dealerships.

My experience:

• 2022 Ford PHEV Esape coming from Kansas: 7 days before being loaded on a rail car, 8 days on the rail, 31 days in the rail yard, and 2 days at the dealer for PDI = 49 days.
• 2022 Ford Maverick XL Hybrid: 5 days before being loaded on a rail car, 5 days on the rail, 14 days in the rail yard, and 2 days at the dealer for PDI = 26 days.
• 2023 Ford Maverick XLT EB AWD: 2 days before being loaded on a rail car, 7 days on the rail, 6 days in the rail yard, and 1 day at the dealer for PDI = 16 days.
• 2024 Ford Maverick XL Hybrid: loaded on a rail car the same day it was finished, 4 days on the rail, 1 day in the rail yard, and 1 day at the dealer for PDI = 6 days.

A friend just received a call that his 2025 XL AWD Hybrid Maverick is ready. We watched it together: 32 days before being loaded on a rail car, 5 days on the rail, 13 days in the rail yard, and 1 day for PDI.

In summary, there are too many variables to give you an accurate estimate. Your dealership is your best source for a time estimate once it has been loaded on a rail car and started its adventure to you.

OP: After the Tracker shows the status has moved from Built to Shipped, expect anywhere from approximately 2 to 8 weeks before it shows up at your dealer. Dealer will contact you either when it has arrived at the dealership or when it's ready to pick up.

Mine shipped on 12/12/2024. After 2 weeks & 3 days, it's currently in Virginia, and I live in NC. It could be in NC in a day or two. Then I think it'll sit in a rail yard waiting for a convoy truck to pick it up. The estimated delivery date is 1/3/25 - 1/9/25.

Interestingly, it came through Pinta AZ and Kansas City and has gone through: Moberly MO, New Haven IN, Belvue OH (bordering Lake Eerie), Sprague WV, and is now in Flat Top VA. That's a bit of a circuitous route to get to Raleigh, NC, but I suppose there's a method to their madness.

I can see why I'm paying $1600 destination charge...my truck is getting a tour of the US before getting to me.

Where are you finding these times as to where the truck is?

Ask your dealer. They won't be able to give you an exact date, but they should have an idea of how long it usually takes to get to them from Mexico. It depends where they are and how many stops are likely in between. Like an investment advisor, they'll probably have a variation of "past performance is not a guarantee of future performance," because the honest truth is that nobody knows for sure - it can depend on what else is on the train (assuming a train) that's working its way to a spot near your dealer.

This time of year, it can also be affected by weather.

Dealer is providing me the info. from the railway tracking Ford has combined with transfer haul approximate times. In the end it is a little guess work after railway delivers to the yard then pick up and highway transfer.

I'm pretty sure you will. I checked the railcar # at lunch time, and it said it's in Walkertown, NC, which is just outside Greensboro I believe. You might have yours in a day or two. Let me know when you get it.

One (actually two) of the Ford marketing folks gave me the railcar # my truck was on even though others say they're not allowed to.

I figured out it was on Norfolk Southern railroad, and called their # (and entered 2 and 2 again, and then entered my railcar #), and it tells you the last check point it cleared. Norfolk Southern's phone number is 800-635-5768.

The guy that posted that info said PLEASE do not talk to anyone live. If it says transferring to a live agent, hang up. Not sure Norfolk Railroad wants the public to have that #, but as long as you always get the automated service, it's not a big deal.

Routing depends on many more factors than straight line distance. If it's on a unit train splitting to multiple delivery points from NE to SE, that route likely is the most economical.
Also is there still hurricane damage in the SE? The Northerly route would avoid most of that.

Mine shipped 12/15 and I live in South West Arkansas and it's still not here yet. The ETA is 1/7 from what the salesman told me. It has been in Shreveport Louisiana for a week now and it will be there from probably another week before it gets out in a hauler and carried here by road. So almost a month from shipment to delivery.
