Ford paint and rust warranty covers 5 years, unlimited mileage, which should cover the damage on your Maverick. I would take it to the dealer for documentation of the issue and get a warranty claim right away.

That’s a shame but not surprising given the price of Maverick. They are a direct result of stone chips breaking through to the base metal. My 22 I bought from Michigan had a lot of chips on it and a few were beginning to rust a little.
It’s doubtful Ford will do anything to fix it as they will claim it’s environmental damage. This is not uncommon for vehicles yet a bit advanced for a 2 year old vehicle. If it was mine I would clean it to shiny metal and put touch up paint on it.

Finally, the rust spreading on the roof is 100% normal. Ford said they cannot do anything about it since it’s a symptom of rock chips. When I asked them why it’s not happening the same way from rock chips on the hood or elsewhere, they were speechless. They’re asking me $1000 (CAD) for a repair. 🤣🤣🤣, FORD, you have guts to ask me $1000. With that kind of rip-off and horrible warranty service, BELIEVE ME, you won’t get a dime to redo the very poor paint quality of this truck and it’s going to be my last Ford product. For a first impression, bravo!
