Broken Windshield From Rock Crack - Any replacement advice?

I'd call and check on cost of that. Not sure if Insurance would cover though.

In my Hybrid First Edition the passenger side plastic insert on top of dash near the windshield is what's occasionally rattling.

Well, got dinged by a rock on the way home from work and before I could even get home fifteen minutes later the ding started cracking and was about six inches long. Bogus. And I actually found another one that had hit the windshield right where the windshield and frame meet - chipped the glass off at the edge and a tiny bit of paint on the body.

I Got a decent size “rock crack” dead center of my right eye. Insurance will replace it since it is in my field of vision. Anyone else had a windshield replaced? Any advice I should heed? Insurance suggest Safelite, but state law allows me to use any glass company…

If you have the acoustic windshield, make sure they replace it with the same. If you don't have the acoustic windshield, pay the difference and have one installed.

I had a crack in one vehicle and I cannot recommend Binswanger Glass Co, (they may be unique to my area), they had four tries to fix a leak. On the last try they put a small gouge in the dashboard. Had another one done by a Lexus dealer with excellent results. Found a reputable small independent glass shop.
