Blowoff valve harmful?

I recently installed one of those cheap $20 blowoff valve and it sounds good paired with an intake but I was wondering if it’s harmful to the turbo or anything.

Doesn't hurt a thing. All it does it release the excess pressure to atmosphere instead of back into the system.
