I've mentioned before but the only issue I've had with Chapman Horsham is that they "couldn't" honor my Farm Bureau discount as well as the Maverick Price protection even after they told me to sign up for it. $90 wasted. Also my truck was delivered to me with 22 miles on the clock (this is my first new vehicle purchase so I'm not sure if that's normal).

Matt Hille worked with me to get everything taken care of and he helped me hold the truck there for a few weeks while I was on vacation and also while I could secure a shipper.
22 miles is not unusual for a new vehicle. I have gotten them with as many as 35 miles. My new Maverick had 9 miles on it when it was delivered. I know they are test driven at the factory and not sure if they drive to the rail siding. As far as your price protection, I would file a complaint with Ford against the dealer. My dealer honored it with out asking.

I don't see a problem with the dealer and a "doc" fee. Look at it from their perspective. Things have changed drastically in the auto industry. The chip shortage has meant fewer vehicles they can sell. Part shortages means their service area is income challenged. They are a business which needs to make money to exist. I picked up my Maverick hybrid Jan. 28th and paid a doc fee and was glad to do it as I am totally thrilled with the truck. If you have a problem with the doc fees, simply walk away and let someone that wants the vehicle more than you take your place. It's that simple. BTW I am not in or have anything to do with the auto industry. Just looking at it in a business sense.

There is work being down for that doc fee. Granted some dealers way overcharge but they are filing all that paperwork with the Secretary of State so you don't have to. I walked out of the dealership with a registration in hand. No need to wait at the Secretary of State. I think at most they should charge $75 though.

Document "fees" are just add dealer profit. This bullshit about being sorry for the doc fee increase and implying that there is nothing they can do about it is just that....bullshit. I wouldn't do business with any dealer that has a doc fee. Just like these assholes that charge for nitrogen in the tires...the goddamn vehicles come from the factory with nitrogen in the tires, for god's sake.
This bullshit of adding extra useless crap for added profit is going to culminate in Karma being very busy in the future.
Agree with you on Nitrogen, however doc fees is legit and in most areas you won't find a dealer not charging it. Bottom line dealers have six buyers for every vehicle right now and this op got a fair price.

My XL EB had 4 miles on it when delivered to my dealer, After my test drive I left the lot with 6 miles. I have heard some go thru a factory extended test drive to verify it is ready to ship.
4 miles is the exception not the rule. 22 miles is nothing to complain about some have a lot more.

The documentation fee seems lower than any dealer has here in TN. I would take your deal.

I'm not following. What is the problem? He said they are still doing 4% below invoice, plus $422 doc fee. That's EXACTLY the same doc fee my dealer (Koch 33 Ford in Easton, Pa.) quoted me when I placed my order in January.
exactly! no different then anyone! is he special?🤔

If it was held for a few weeks, I'm sure it was moved quite a bit around the lot as well as everyone in the 100 mile radius taking a Google at it. You are lucky they did what they did. I bought from Chapman. They were the only honest dealership I could find with no mark ups. Delete your post or change the wording. You may be the scum bag!

Class action suit?

Maybe free extended warranties for everybody!
Class action lawsuit, count me in. I also have The post you shared from long McArthur Ford showing how to do the price protection adjustment and I mentioned it and they told me Ford is no longer honoring it. I know they’re lying because when the salesman walked away, I called Ford and they told me the dealer is supposed to honor Price protection, but the dealer said they weren’t going to. I know they’re gonna put in for the money soon and keep it. Got to be someway to make them honor the deal we were promised!

Some states limit the doc fee, like NY. States that have almost zero consumer protection laws allow their dealer associations to control the laws and they charge the sky high doc fees. A buyer in NY pays $75, while a buyer in FL can pay $900 for the very same documents.. Dealer associations are also behind not allowing Tesla to sell direct Dealers and their lobbying associations are scum.
