Our six month old Ford Fiesta's grill took a huge chunk of ice flying off a semi on the Interstate at night in another State. Didn't look that bad, some broken grill work. Fan and radiator looked fine. Limped into a nearby Ford dealer who spent a week fixing it at $800. Got it home as the check engine light came on. Coolant leaks, engine damage, other issues. Totaled. It happens. We got a new Focus. And we were not killed or injured. Cars are replaceable.

If your Fiesta was the last generation, that was a blessing in disguise. Those cars were fun to drive but aged horribly bad and the automatic transmission was hot garbage

I hit a deer when my Jeep renegade was 9 months old. Right front hit. Knocked some wheelwell trim off and i got a small crack in the plastic bumper. Drove fine (it was January in W.PA.). When i got it to the bodyshop it turns out that the hit had damaged a small plastic AC hose. Added almost $1K to the damages. Insurance paid all but my $250 deductible, but i was surprised at the over $4K needed to fix the Jeep.
