I have the Pirelli 225r65/17 I have over 2,000 on them now and they seem decent. I've had good luck with the Wildpeaks but looking for another option. I need an equivalent of at least a six ply tire. My major enemy is old nails and sharp rocks. Old nails you can patch, sharp rocks not so. Any body have suggestions.

I've been liking my Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015s thus far. I'm running 235s. Found mine for cheap last fall on Amazon -- under five Benjamins for a set of four.

Well all I can say is I'm solely a Michelin guy. Can't say they can't be beat in a certain category but that's about all I've ever used for me and my family to ride on. Maybe a little more expensive than some, but for ME, I'll pay for the Quality, Safety, durability, etc. Everyone will have their own opinions/preferences and that's fine.

Those are what I switched to, they are a great tire but I am not sure they are available in 6-ply like OP wants at least not in a size that fits our trucks.

Edit: I am having trouble finding ply count for the tires. But 235/70r17 the firestones are available in their xl load and in my opinion is a better size than the 245/65 a lot of people get.

Maybe consider a run flat tire like the Bridgestone DriveGuard Plus. It may not prevent a puncture but even if the tire loses air completely you can still drive it for up to 50 miles at up to 50 mph.

I'm thinking of getting some run-flat Bridgestone DriveGuard Plus tires for my 2022 XLT Hybrid.

Did you try them? Any comments? Any info would be appreciated.

GO15’s are good tires … my son ran them on his Cross Trek Hybrid and loved them. Personally, I am a Wildpeak fan … have had three sets and love the ride, quiet, and traction in all conditions. The little bit of off roading I do when fishing they hold up fine, but wouldn’t call it a good test for sidewall strength. But they do put up with Chicago expressway potholes well!
