This is my best for under $100. Cost about $50.00. Its a commercial door mat that I cut around the wheel well. It's rubber backed and thick and works great. I've had the truck since last October.

Hello there....nice work. Can you tell me where I can get the tailgate gap protector? ThanksMy XLT came with one bed cubby on passenger side, added one to drivers side for $40+tax. Keeps road dirt off the back of tail light on that side. Moved the outlet to inside the new cubby. Also another cheap mod was the tailgate gap cover (rubber piece)

Thank you! I assume it will just flex open and closed and stay adhered.
I laid it out flat on back deck for a day to take the “roll” out of it. Then just cleaned the bed (spray liner) and tailgate with alcohol really well before trimming and applying it. Doesn’t stick as well to spray liner as it does to painted part of tailgate but so far it’s fineThank you! I assume it will just flex open and closed and stay adhered.
No Cubby in the XL. I had ordered two and sold one have the other for sale since I sold the Maverick. I would put it on the driver side to prevent garbage getting up in the void area by the driver side tail light.Do all mavericks come with the flexbed cubby or only certain models? I got the peasant XL base everything model so not sure what I get in the bed lol
I really like the idea of TuxMats but I've been looking for a 5 year+ review to hear how they hold up over the long haul. Any chance you've owned a set for roughly ...a long time?
2 years is the max I've had them and I will say the looked much better than the Husky's and Weathertechs I had for shorter periods. They are without a doubt a much better material. Put it this way - the Husky's scratch like the Maverick interior lol. The X-act contours even being softer would turn brown so quickly with dirt and grime. It's like they attracted it.I really like the idea of TuxMats but I've been looking for a 5 year+ review to hear how they hold up over the long haul. Another benefit of the Tuxmats is that because of their large coverage, the front passenger floormat covers the fuse panel box where a lot of floormats fail to reach that high. That fuse panel box is right where people's feet tend to be and will get scratched up if you didn't have a Tuxmat to protect it.2 years is the max I've had them and I will say the looked much better than the Husky's and Weathertechs I had for shorter periods. At first I thought they were almost squishy, like a kitchen mat or something... but they aren't. Very durable, very easy to clean and flexible. Once the clips are in place just put them in spots that are easy enough to remove and will stay on the mats when you remove them to wash them off. Some 303 and a soft bristle brush every couple cleans and you are g2g. Even just hanging them in the wash bay and using the scrub brush cleans them up better than the Huskie's.
Just my opinion of course, but the coverage for the cost is worth it. Jeez... they should almost pay me to be a spokesperson at this rate...
I did write about them the TuxMat thread here.
But, again, over $100. For the front's it's $130 though, so if you only needed them you could just get the fronts.
Well this is good to know. Every time I read that they have a "luxurious finish" it makes me wonder if they compromised on durability for the sake of comfort. At first I thought they were almost squishy, like a kitchen mat or something... but they aren't.
Yea it's a flexible material that's hard to describe. Soft enough but still durable. Really interesting design.Well this is good to know. Every time I read that they have a "luxurious finish" it makes me wonder if they compromised on durability for the sake of comfort.
Thanks so much for the extra info! Also - I noticed you've been all over MTC since arriving and adding loads of good info to the site. It's pretty easy to tell you've got some good experience in vehicle care & maintenance and I know a bunch of us really appreciate you sharing it here. Thanks!
