Bed outlet - small radio

My maverick is supposed to be arriving by the end of the month. Im also lucky enough to live a short drive from one of the few remaining drive in movie theaters. I would love to take my kids and a pile of blankets and watch a drive in movie while sitting in the bed.

My question is can I power a small radio for the movie audio with the bed outlet while the truck is off?

NO! the key has to be in the on position for the outlets to be live. I am assuming you are talking about the 110v bed outlet.

I know this because I had a 43in LCD TV in the bed and it would not come on until I turned on the key.

Unfortunately the power is only good for so long before the truck shuts it off.

I'd just get a radio from whatever cordless tool platform you use and go that route. If you don't have one, then just find one that runs on batteries and do that.

just had battery for my drill crap out on me sounds like I have an excuse to buy an even bigger battery for it plus a radio, it’s for the kids lol

I think the person meant will it power the radio with the key on.which it will.personally I would just use the radios batteries. I was disappointed with how little the outlet will power though!
