Is this like the same FORD measurement that for weeks said in their Build&Price website their "bed extender" would not be compatible with their own bed tonneau? Yes, until they corrected their own installation measurement/instructions, and now are backtracking that the "bed extender" will be compatible with their own tonneau cover.
Ford never said the tonneau and bed extender were physically incompatible, you just couldn't order them together.

When you guy's were talking about a gap, I understood that as a 3-4 inch space between the tailgate and bed, like a 2x4 could fall through it. The pic of the blue tailgate is not from a Maverick so I think we need a pic of a maverick tailgate. Also while you're there please measure the tailgate open to ground.

My Ford dealer showed me Ford's memo that said they were not physically compatible due to the mounting brackets interfering with lowering and raising the bed extenders...if you moved the tonneau brackets 1 inch they fit fine... that was why they could not be ordered together...Another memo corrected the Ford error and showed dealers how to correctly mount the tonneau brackets so they were compatible.

the face of the tailgate becomes parallel to the bed, unless there is a complex geometry, that means the hinge is 1/2 the thickness of the tailgate down from the bed top. If the tailgate is 6 inches thick or more, the other guys may be dead on.

problem is you can see the hinge in several of the pictures and there is no complex geometry.

ever had an argument with flat earthers? The problem is not that they are stupid, in fact the average flat earthers has to be able to understand far more complex arguments than light down a well. In other words they are, on average, smarter thdd as n your average fart smeller. (Smart feller). But, they really want to be right and so they suffer from confirmation bias.

wherever the hinge is, the inner face of it must come level when rotated 90 degrees. The further you move the hinge away from the inner face, the lower it can go and the longer the total
Bed will be. Find the center of rotation and the bed will extend the night of the bed plus ~1/2 the distance from the tailgate bed intersection.

So, we have one measurement at 79" and another at 78-1/4". Measured with a tape measure. But those two guys are flat earthers? One has been the consistent information guy for us at a big dealership and the other a Ford employee that has access to the vehicles. Both of these are consistent with being 6' with the tailgate in the 45 degree position.

Exactly, so with the tailgate down it will be 78-1/4” minimum to a maximum of 79” or somewhere in between. So still over 6’ with tailgate down, good enough for me.

What happens in a month? That should be the Okay to Sell milestone. Is there some review units showing up somewhere?

Accessories will launch as well between now and Sept 15th but most importantly the QR code with bed dimensions in the back of the Mavericks is set to go live instead of redirecting.

Perfect, thanks. One of the most useful things I found for the Ranger was the vehicle dimension sheet showing each configuration including the XL flatbed. It was conspicuously missing for the Mav. It sounds like it is still coming.

I once thought about a Ranger XL flatbed with a custom electric bike loader, built in tent system, and awnings...but I decided against it and went flat tow behind the motorhome instead.
