Bed cover

I have been looking at the different posts and still cant seem to understand anything. i would like a trifold cover that can fold against the back window when i need to have it open. i would perfer to have a hard top that can also either lock or has to be opened with tailgate down. i have thought about the Decked system but thats a little pricy so i would need it to be waterproof so when i build my own drawer or storage system it stays dry. I have looked on amazon but all that i noticed that had a good rating did not fold against window that i could tell.

Rough Country makes a very nice one, I really like mine. No brand is water proof at any price range. Adding weather stripping to the tailgate area will greatly reduce water intrusion.

saw that one on amazon but wasnt sure if it folded againt the window. and may be a hard sell to the wife compairing it to the others on amazon that are cheaper. ( i know this brand is good but she only looks at $$$)

I would explain it to her like this, quality comes at a price. It's something you only want to buy and install once. Ymmv

You don't want to buy something for half the price to find out it's low quality and have to send it back, or worse be stuck with it and have to purchase another one.

My wife bought mine as a birthday gift.

you have a very good point. espically since i want to make a storage system to go in the bed that i can store my stuff for my new job in the bed vs in the back seat.

i agree. i dont mind doing research but when it comes to looking for idea based on a set of permators its easier to just ask sometimes.

Take a look at the Leer it is a quad fold so you still have rear visibility it has prop rods so it doesn't lean against the cab and possibly scratch the paint. Very happy with mine.

I purchased a folding cover from Real Truck. It was easy to install and is reasonably water resistant as in very little water gets in under any conditions. The final fold puts the rear window out of view but the plus is I lose only about three inches of bed. Pricing was a little higher by only a couple of hundred $$. Folding and unfolding is very easy. Overall, I am very pleased over the past 6 months of use.

I purchased this one as well. Opens fully and the major deference to me is that it doesn't use the wire release mechanism that is very easy to open with a coat hanger that others do.
