Before you get a conventional cap check out the Air-Topper from @FLATED HQ. They have great videos on YouTube. I have the Air-Topper and it is light, sturdy and packs away. I do have a few beefs: 1. Needs two people to line the top up with the edge of the bed when putting the top on. 2. Tough to put the deflated top back into the backpack but even without that it still stores pretty easy. 3. There is not a piece to go from the top of the Air-Topper the open tailgate for sleeping in a short bed. Other than these conditions I love the versatility and ease of use of the Air-Topper.

Word is they are coming out with a add on that will go down to the tail gate for camping. Suppose to be released by the end of the year. Not sure if that is still on track. But am excited to see and get it.

What is your purpose and need? Since I use my Mav as a work truck, I need a permanent cover to protect materials and equipment. For me, that's a hard shell, but they are costly.
I got a Ford-badged cap through a Ford dealer. It was built by Leer and it cost me over $5.5k, including installation.
Hopefully, one of the cheaper options will fill your bill.

I bought a Jason Pace Plus - $2558 installed in 2023. Also installed a Bed Rug (put it in before the top was set on). It does have a drop down window in the front which is a necessity to keep the outside of the Maverick rear window and topper windows clean.

Regardless, get a front window that folds down so you can clean the cab window.

Roof line caps look sleek granted, but access is LOW. It’s a game of inches.
