You’re right. It’s all a conspiracy just to play mind games with you. There is no Hybrid model and this is a ploy by the Marketing Team to see how many people actually want a base hybrid compact truck. Change your order to 2.0EB. QUICK!!!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone,

Was just telling a friend that I probably won't get my Hybrid Lariat until early next year because Ford is only building 35% hybrids. I told him how people are getting impatient and changing their orders to the 2.0 EcoBoost.

That got me to wondering if Ford is playing a bait & switch. They are advertising the Maverick as the first truck available with standard hybrid powertrain, but they are devoting 65% of production to the 2.0 EcoBoost.

Seems that 65% of the pre-orders are hybrid, but Ford isn't changing their plans for building the Maverick.

I'm sure that the hybrid costs way more to build than the 2.0, but they are charging more for the 2.0.

When you add the 2.0 Ecoboost for a little over $1,000, that opens up more costly add-ons (AWD/4K Tow/FX4).

Just wondering what all of your thoughts are.
Not to pontificate but….No.

Am I disappointed in the way the production has gone, yes. Do I think it is bait and switch, no.

It would be bait and switch if I ordered a hybrid, show up to the dealer and find a turbo under the hood.

Or, if I ordered a vehicle for one price and came to the dealer to see a completely different price.

Wait... You mean... The Maverick comes with bait?

Man, those fishing trips are gonna be fan-tastic!

How TF are you disappointed with the way production has gone? It literally started 2 weeks ago with initial runs being for a small run of dealer stock.. Would you rather your build was first so they could fudge up a few things on yours just to squeak it down the line first.. Not how any of this works. First runs are always stock to work out the kinks. We've known the initial production date for retail, which is still weeks away.. What in the hell could you possibly be disappointed in? I think you're just delusional, as all is still right on schedule for FALL 2021 availability.

There had literally been no production for anybody that ordered yet. How can you be disappointed in how it has gone?!

Sometimes I feel like the Roman Guards in Monty Python's "Life of Brian" watching the People's Front fight with the Judean Front over an internet rumor. I wish there was a meme on that one!

Ford is not allowing dealers to order hybrids for stock, all hybrids that are built will go to retail orders. Just be patient.

I reserve the right to be disappointed without being cursed at. I'm disappointed that they have not scheduled any dealer hybrids. I'm disappointed that the base hybrid drivetrain is only scheduled at %40.

I did NOT say I think this is bait and switch. I did NOT say that I think Ford did anything wrong.

I did say that I'm disappointed. And I reserve the right to that feeling even if you disagree.
