The Maverick is my first truck, so far It's been a Gateway drug, and I want a fullsizer now. She is pretty cool, I take more pics of my Mav than family members.

That being said, if you can swing it, wait and buy the mAV!

To make a long story short, I ordered my truck and based on what I am reading on here as well as other Forums, I am beginning to get a bit anxious on when I will receive the build confirmation email, and when I would even see my truck. My current car is nearing the end of it's life and I am starting to rethink the direction that I want to go when getting a new car.

I have been looking at Chevy Colorados for a variety of reasons, and one of them being I could go to the dealer today and drive it off the lot while paying relatively close to the same as what I would for the Maverick amongst multiple other reasons.

I live an extremely active lifestyle from surfing to mountain biking, to climbing/camping so I will be getting a mid size truck regardless of the direction I am going to go in.

I am starting to lose hope in my Maverick and I just wanted to know if anyone else out there has been going through a similar thought process as I am.

Interested to see what people have to say, since after all everyone on the internet is an expert when it comes to everything ;)
Only you can decide that. Think about why you ordered your Maverick. If you no longer care about whatever that reason was, and if you actually CAN buy that Chevy Colorado that you like, do it.

You don't actually have to cancel your other order in advance. Just let it ride, then refuse it when it comes in.

Yes, and that's for the extended cab (not a 4 door crew cab) without cruise control, remote keyless entry, or any advanced safety features. The crew-cab base WT model comparable to the Maverick XL would be at least $28,000, and over $31k for the mid-tier LT model.

So these generally run $9-10k more than a Maverick.
I only look at base price numbers because those are pretty much what I buy. I am aware of the doors difference, though. I would not use cruise control or keyless entry so those are not important to me or many others. The only option I am getting on my hybrid xl is the drop in bed liner. Again, if the money difference isn’t a big issue, I wouldn’t wait any longer. I think the Colorado sales are off a bit so he might be able to bargain or with the price of used vehicles get a top price to make up the gap. To each his own.

Not to mention that is the 2 rear wheel drive

I have a 2012 Chevy Colorado with 126,000 miles and it has been a great vehicle. All I have done to it is replaced the tires at about 85,000, new battery at about 95,000, and just replaced the fuel pump.
You got 85k out of a set of tires!?!

I would wait unless you are walking and need a vehicle now. Mavericks are going up in value dramatically especially since you cannot even order one now and that very well could be a once in a lifetime anomaly. I don't believe this is the new normal. I have never paid MSRP for a vehicle in all my life. My first new car was a MG 1973 :) and I paid $2921 for it . I have bought easily more than 20 new cars since. Usually you buy a car use it for a few years and lose money. You very will could drive this Maverick for 2 years now and break even. Don't pass on it IMHO.
