After reading today that Ford is closing new orders for the 2023 Mavericks sometime next week, after only 3 days being able to order, this sucks! But with the problems of part supplies, and everones wants for there personal builds, maybe they might be on to something. Remember just a few years ago, you went to a dealership, took a look at what they had on the lot, picked out what was there, and drove home smiling with a new vehicle. That's what most of us did. Many years ago, you had choices of engine, transmission, wheels, interior color, and a list of everything else. Today pick your color, and model (XL, XLT, ETC) thats about it. You shop for a car, because it's time to replace what you have, and need now. not in a year or 2. Let the dealers have the trucks, then we can shop around see where we can make a deal on something today!

My dealer won't place my order until they've placed everyone before me. If I don't get to submit mine in time that will probably be the end of me getting a Maverick. I was pretty excited but there's only so much a person can take before they lose interest.
Although I already have a 22, it's sort of the same deal for me. My dealer will not put in any 23 orders until their 22 orders have been placed. And even then, they have quite the list of 23 orders to get through. Per my last contact my dealer was not inputting any new orders yet. I called to tell them ordering won't be available much longer and they didn't seem to believe me, I don't think they'll have all of them in by the deadline as they have not placed a single new order yet, still converting existing 22 customers to 23 orders o_O Although I'd love a new 23 with different features that I couldn't get on the 22, I'm not playing the game of placing several orders just to take home one when all is said and done. I suspect there are a lot of folks already doing that though, and dealers don't care because whatever is refused they can simply resell as dealer stock $$$

Yeah, it isn't how some people like to do it, but I am totally one of those people who went in to a Subaru dealership years ago and just said "Send me home with a base model Forester today at MSRP (or whatever the deal was at that time)". I did not care about color or anything. Ended up with a couple "added" features that came on the window sticker of whatever one they wanted off the lot that day (retractable truck privacy cover, all weather mats, etc...) but other than that it was an easy sale for them. I almost wish we could do the same with Maverick.
