Drove from Prescott AZ to SF Bay Area. Got an early start driving on AZ-89, I-40, Bakersfield, I-5, CA-152, CA-101. Temps were in the triple digits, a high of 109 in Mojave CA. Adaptive cruise control worked great. A/C worked great. Lane keep was pretty good but tended to nag too often about keeping pressure on wheel. Two gas stops. I drove a little over the posted limits. Seats were comfortable too. Definitely a good road trip vehicle!

Sounds like a great trip.
A little jealous of your Adaptive Cruise Control. My XLT has lane keeping but not ACC.
I guess I don't really need it; retired, pleasure cruiser, etc. If I were in bumper-to-bumper daily I'd have it in a heartbeat.
Had my previous vehicle in the shop for a while, got a loaner Toyota truck with ACC. Had to try it, but it was too weird to feel comfortable. I think using it consistently would be beneficial in tight traffic — what was the learning curve on using ACC?

The ACC worked well right away. And the cameras looking for the speed limit signs also are very effective. I set the ACC to automatically adjust the speed to a few MPH over the posted limits. It also will slow down for curves, making the whole experience pleasant. It works well in traffic too, coming to a stop and easily resuming the speed. For most of the drive, I just had two fingers on the wheel. And could enjoy the sights on the journey.

I just did a long drive. Pittsburgh to Wilmington NC and back. I have a 2024 Lariat Hybrid. 65-75 MPH. Calculator indicated 38 MPG more or less. When I did the math at fill up it consistently was 35 MPG. So the Fuel MPG Calculator was approx 10% high and wrong. I'm surprised. Also Auto pilot was not terrible. Disconnected now and then and wandered. There had to be very clear lines on road to work properly.

Nice trip...I'm in Overgaard and Surprise..My wife's from The city proper..San Francisco and I'm from San Diego so we make the tour 3 times a year...From Overgaard to Surprise..Then from Surprise to Daly City then to Lodi then Merced then Temecula/San Diego and back...And have to say, like you, love my little trucklet. The ACC is awesome to have, except for the nagging about hands on the wheel. You got great gas mileage too..That was a great trip for you...

Agree. I did a long trip when I picked up mine back in April. Was about 1600 miles mainly highway. Averaged about 33 mpg, max 5 over speed limit from time to time due to break in period. Found it to be very comfortable as well. Really like the standard XL seats. Very comfy.
