Average time for "build" ?

Fingers crossed. Ford Vehicle order Tracking says my build started yesterday. 3/13 . Any experts on average time to finish build, then rail, then Ohio, then me. lol? XLT Lux, co-pilot, rear window.

Depends on day of week and time of day the actual build starts. Start on Friday evening it can take 3 calendar days. Start early Monday morning maybe done that night. But that is the beginning. Certain items need to be added in a secondary shop. That can take a couple of days to two weeks. Then final inspections and testing. One day to several day unless it doesn't pass.

Once released for shipping it has to wait for an opening on a railcar that travels to Ohio. If there are several ready to head that way it may load in one or two days. May wait a week or two. Once the train leaves it heads north, switches railroads in Arizona, travels to various locations to drop off and pickup railcars until it finally reaches the closest drop yard -'about 3 to 4 weeks. At the drop yard it has to wait for a truck to pick up enough vehicles heading towards your dealer. That wait can be a few days to a few weeks.

Since Norfolk Southern services Ohio it may take a few months if involved in one of their derailments like the 10 Mavericks in the derailment last month.

So average is hard to say. Hope for 3 weeks, plan for at least 6 weeks.

My build started earlier than the provided build start date. So, 14 days from actual start date to finish, or 3 days from the provided date.

My build was scheduled for the week of 2/7 then moved to the 2/11 in production on 2/20 and built...... still has not shipped. I am in upstate NY so I assume it will come through Ohio. So I am sure the rail troubles are holding thing up.

Mine was in production on 1/6. Did not get the built notification until 1/29! Then it shipped 2/1, took a joyride around the country (Idiana, Iowa) and then headed to Florida where it took a wrong turn to Tampa. It sat there for almost a month and finally got to Orlando on Monday. Still waiting for it to arrive at the dealer only for them to tell me they can't sell it because of the trailer hitch recall. FML

Maybe it's waiting for mine going to Central NY which is being built this week?
