Auto window washing fluid..

Bought some that has Methanol in it. Got a bad feeling....will that dissolve the rubber in the system?

Methanol is necessary to keep the washer fluid from freezing.

I've always used the Rain-X all season, One of the easier ones to find in most stores that doesn't freeze with below zero wind chills. Most all the all weather washer fluid has methanol in it.

I've been using the Rain-X deicer, the -25deg orange stuff, with good results. The blue is -30 I believe but I avoid going out at either of those temps anyway.

I've been using the Rain X Bug Remover version. It's far and away the best wiper fluid I have ever used. Only caveat is it is for over 32° only, but that's not an issue here outside San Diego.

Just FYI if you don’t want any Methanol you can make it yourself. Just make sure you don’t go below freezing and use distilled water.

You can add Methanol as well if desired.

That said I have to imagine the rubber components are designed to take it.
